Madrid Space in Belgium: Aeronautics, Aerospace, Defence, and Cybersecurity Mission – Wallonia-Brussels, December 10–12, 2025

From December 10 to 12, 2025, Madrid Space proudly participated in the Aeronautics, Aerospace, Defence, and Cybersecurity Mission in Wallonia and Brussels. Over three intensive days, our delegation explored technological, industrial, and research collaboration opportunities with key players in the Belgian and European ecosystem.

Connecting with Industry Leaders

The mission kicked off in Liège with an official inauguration and a warm welcome from the Wallonia Minister of Economy, P.Y. Jeholet, who highlighted investment opportunities in the region’s strategic sectors. Throughout the visit, our team connected with leading institutions and companies, including:

  • John Cockerill Defense – Land defense systems and integrated platforms.

  • FN Herstal – Light weapons and onboard weapon systems.

  • CRM Group – Advanced materials and additive manufacturing.

  • Safran Aero Boosters – Aerospace propulsion and engine components.

  • Thales Belgium – Integrated systems, communications, and space solutions.

B2B meetings and networking sessions enabled meaningful exchanges with clusters, research centers, and Spanish and Belgian companies, paving the way for future strategic collaborations.

Driving Technological Innovation and European Collaboration

In Charleroi and Mons, Madrid Space visited SABCA and SONACA, as well as industrial hubs like A6K, exploring applications in high-performance computing (HPC), digital twins, and additive manufacturing. The SIRRIS laboratory and Multitel research center demonstrated innovation in ICT, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, critical areas for aerospace and defense competitiveness.

The mission concluded in Redu, at the ESA European Space Security and Education Centre (ESEC), with presentations on satellite communications, cybersecurity, and navigation, and discussions on cooperation in European programs such as Copernicus, Galileo, Horizon Europe, and Space4Defence. Visits to Nexova and the Idelux cyber range further reinforced Madrid Space’s commitment to innovation and digital security.

Building Bridges Across Europe

Thanks to Wallonia Export & Investment Agency (AWEX) and all partners, the Spanish delegation enjoyed excellent organization, high-level networking opportunities, and an inspiring environment to foster strategic projects.

Madrid Space continues to strengthen its presence in Europe, exploring new collaborations in aeronautics, space, defense, and cybersecurity, and consolidating relationships with the leading players in the sector.
